We of Olu Kai, Ltd. a family held corporation, that operates
several small businesses in l Iawaii, one of which is "huggci s"
restaurant in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, wish to show that we aze in
support of Mayor Steve Yamashiro and County Councilman,
Curtis Tyler's attempt to trade lands of Haxnakua for properties in
the Kona area that will enhance our existing parks and village
areas. An example is their proposal of an uchange for Bishop
Estate property mauka of "lwbgo's, on Alii Drive and adjacent to
the very new Coconut Grove development for much nxxdcd
village parking and vehicular access between Alii Drive and
Kuakini Highway.
h~ the matter of needed lands for yanks, we defixutely need
parking lots in the Magic Sands area (a beach with probably as
nxuch use as Hanauma bay sq. ft. wise), the Kahaluu Beach area
and, of course, many others such as Honawtau etc. etc.
Une property that we detinitely support is the acquisition of, as
long as it is done in a manner that the present property owner is
not hurt in any way, or suffers any injustices, is the Honl Beach
and Surf area- But at dxe sanxe time, we would have to acquire
pri~pcrty (possibly to the rear of the sewer lift station) in that verv
vicinity additional property for PARKING.
