Home My WebLink AboutCOM 0604.059 1996-1998 COUNTY OF HAVrIAIf:~~~~-STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION N0. 2aa_96 (Draft 3) WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-111, of the Hawaii County Code provides that the County Council may by resolution approved by a majority of its members, dispose of real property; and WHEREAS, the County has received an inquiry regarding the availability of the 1,040 acre pazcel identified by TMK: 4-2-05:001; and WHEREAS, a short term lease of this parcel will provide interested ranchers and other agriculturalists with the opportunity to address some of their drought related problems; and WHEREAS, grazing of the land by livestock and/or utilization of the land by agriculturalists will prevent vegetative overgrowth which minimizes the fire hazard risk of the property; and WHEREAS, the Department of Finance is requesting approval to make this pazcel available on a short term lease to ranchers and other agriculturalists who are interested in bidding for the pazcel; and WHEREAS, the Corporation Counsel will be assisting the Department of Finance to prepare the lease agreement and after it is negotiated, the lease shall be submitted to Council for approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF ":`HE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 2, Article 19, Section 2-111, of the Hawaii County Code, the Director of Finance be avthori~ed to ne¢otiate a lease of the subject parcel identified as TMK: (3) 4-2-05:001 located at Koholalele, Hamakua, Hawaii for up to five years, provided that the negotiated lease shall be submitted to the County Council for its approval. --Reference to this resolution was discussed at the 10/07/98 Council meeting-- PLG ic. i . ~rerentecl CCU.~eil Irk n 19gR BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Director of Finance.
