RESOLUTION NO. 13 ~>'7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Neighborhood Place of Kona is a community based 501(c)3 non-profit
organization that services families through partnerships with public and private agencies and
groups and serves as a hub for joint efforts and collaboration, focusing on family well-being and
prevention of child abuse and neglect and;
WHEREAS, the Miloli`i Ho`opuloa `Ahahui I Na `Opio Program is one of many
collaborative partners of the Neighborhood Place of Kona, who provide for the well-being of the
Miloli`i youth through promotion ofanti-violence to build resilient children and strong families;
and
WHEREAS, the main goal of the Miloli`i Ho`opuloa `Ahahui I Na `Opio Program is
focused on substance abuse and anti-violence education and prevention, community exchange
programs and extra-curricular activities that provide at-risk youths of Miloli`i with the
knowledge of resilience and instill self-confidence to help them become responsible individuals
in their daily lives as well as the future; and
WHEREAS, funding is necessary to enable the Miloli`i Ho`opuloa `Ahahui I Na `Opio
Program to continue its substance abuse and anti-violence education, community exchange and
extra-curricular activities; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used as a grant towards Miloli`i Ho`opuloa `Ahahui I
Na `Opio Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and
that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
with the terms of this resolution.
