A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Kealakehe Community Association dba Kealakehe Neighborhood
Watch Inc., is anon-profit organization created for the purpose of ensuring a safe Kealakehe
community by addressing issues and concerns that affect and impact their community; and
WHEREAS, the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch started as a grass-roots group working
to banish drug sales from their neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, a component of the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch is the Le`a Le`a Na
Opio after school program that has successfully integrated cultural practices and crime
prevention activities for the benefit of the youth and parents of the Kealakehe community; and
WHEREAS, the Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch Le`a Le`a Na Opio after school
program is in need of funding to cover the cost of crime prevention educational materials and
youth activities as well as travel expense to attend events such as the Annual National Youth
Crime Watch Conference to be held in Denver, Colorado in March, 2007; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the
Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to be used as a grant towards Kealakehe Community
Association dba Kealakehe Neighborhood Watch Inc..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County ofHawai`i shall
forward a copy of this resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and
that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
with the terms of this resolution.
