EXPLANATION (Provide complete explanation):
Funds will be transferred from the Fire Prevention S&W account. Cost savings were realized from a vacant
position, 00-03548, Fire Prevention Inspector I, which was filled 9/16/06. Savings were $4273/mo for 2.Smo.
Funds to be used to purchase a replacement cooking stove for the Kailua Fire Station. The stove/range at
the Kailua Fire Station broke down within the past months and replacement is recommended by an appliance
repair vendor. Given the volume and extent of the meal prepazation activities within the fire station, a
commercial grade range is desirable to assure reliability as well as provide for optimum service life.

EXPLANATION (Provide complete explanation):
Transfer into Misc Contract Services for extension and amendment to the contract with Plan Pacific Inc. for the
completion of the Puna Community Development Plan. The initial $150,000 contract has revised its original
scope and will need supplemental funding of $163,000 to be provided by: 1) $95,000 from the current 2006-07
budget; 2) $30,000 from the Puna Makai Alternate Route Study (Acct# 110.399.5390.39.115); and
3) $38,000 from this request to transfer funds.
Funds are currently available for transfer from the Regular S&W accounts in Planning due to vacant positions.
