RESOLUTION NO. 22 ' ~7
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY DONATION OF $2,000 TO THE
HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Wal-Mart Hilo, as part of their community involvement program, has donated $2,000 to the
Hawaii County Police Department; and
WHEREAS, this donation will be used by the Department for general law enforcement related
purposes;
WHEREAS, Article XI11, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance of this donation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, the Council of the County of Hawaii
accepts the $2,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Mr.
Terrance Crowley, Manager, Wal-Mart Hilo, 325 E. Maka'ala Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this
generous donation.
