RESOLUTION NO. 3g 07
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Palace Theater will present the 5`~ Annual Hilo Chinese
New Year Festival on February 16 and 17, 2007; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, Februazy 16, 2007, Lion Dancers will pazade through
Downtown Hilo and join Chinese musicians and dancers at the Palace Theater; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday Febnaary 17, 2007, the Festival will feature food, information,
performances and demonstrations at Kalakaua Pazk. These activities blend the best of Hawaiian
and Chinese cultures and bring visitors and residents together to celebrate the two cultures; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the
Department of Reseazch and Development to be used as a grant towards the Friends of the Palace
Theater for the 5`~ Annual Chinese New Yeaz Festival.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY
OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth
below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $4,000.00
CREDITED TO: Department of Reseazch and Development $4,000.00
010.161.5161.60 Tourism Promotion (Friends of the Palace Theater-
s"' Annual Hilo Chinese New Year Festival)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
