Re: Resolutions 16-07 and 17-07 F~

To the Honorable Members ofthe Council:
I am writing in support of the above referenced resolutions regarding the temporary stopping of
all land zoning changes in Kohala and Kailua-Kona until such time as [he Community
Development Plan (CDP) as drawn up by the citizens of these areas has been submitted,
reviewed, and accepted by this governing body. I also request that these resolutions be amended
or another resolution initiated to include the Puna area.
The objective of the CDP was to give the citizens area the right to state how they wish their
commm~ity to gow. A great deal of money was appropriated for this purpose and a good number
of man-hours spent developing these plans which, to date have not been completed and
submitted. To do anything other than pass these resolutions, including Puna, would he ignoring
the intent of the CDP, a waste of government money, as well as letting the people who have put
in their efforts of behalf of their community know that this body is not really concerned about the
community's desires. The fact that these resolutions are before you shows that this is not the
case and I appreciate your concern in this matter. Now passage and amendment is all that is
necessary and I ask 1'or your support in this matter.
Mahalo!
Sincerely
