RE: 1ST MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON
HUMAN SERVICES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
The first meeting of the Committee on Human Services and Economic Development will be held
on January 21, 1997 at I :00 p.m. In addition to other matters we have on the agenda, we need to
accomplish several specific things. I would like us to take some time to discuss the overall
scope and goals of the Committee in terms of economic development. I will provide some
background information on the County Council's recently heightened role in reviewing the non-
profit grants. Specifically, we need to discuss the schedule and procedure for evaluating and
awarding the non-profit grants for the 1997-1998 fiscal year.
