Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 15-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 15-07, transmitted jointly with Bill No. 6 by Director of Finance
William Takaba, via Communication No. 14, dated December 4, 2006, accepting a monetary
donation of $2,000.00 from Wal-Mart Hilo, 325 Maka`ala Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720. These
funds, donated as part of Wal-Mart Hilo's "Safe Neighborhood Grant" program, will be used
towards the purchase of educational materials to be distributed to the public in commemoration
of Fire Prevention Week and of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides that the Council,
on behalf of the County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 15-07
and recommends its adoption.
