Relating To Smoking In Certain Places In The County Of Hawai i
Council Meeting January 4, 2007

My name is Hannah Hedrick, and I strongly support Bill 365, which would prohibit smoking at
Kahalu'u Beach Park. You may remember me ftom testimony supporting smokefree
work places on the Big Island and in the State of Hawaii.
I commend our Country Council for understanding the importance of further protecting our
keiki in recreation areas, both from exposure to secondhand smoke and
from hazardous cigarette butts and other related litter. 1 strongly encourage the Council to pass
Bi11365 so we can have one beach on the Big Island that is not hazardous to our fung health,
