RE: BILL 16: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 06-8Q, AS AMENDED,
RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2006 TO JUNE 30, 2007 (by adding the Public Works
ADA Curb Ramp Compliance project for $1,500,000)
Attached is a spreadsheet provided by Paul Nash (Public Works -Engineer) with the ADA Ramp
project information since the federal mandate. I requested this information at the last Finance
Committee meeting on January 3, 2007 due to my concern over the increased $I.SM requested by
Public Works to complete the ADA ramp project.
Mr. Nash's work is in black type. I have added additional information which is indicated in either blue
or pink type. Only lines 10 and 11 are involved with the increase of $1.SM. I am providing the entire
report so the Council may see the average cost of other projects as a comparison only.
I request that this letter of transmittal and the attached report be distributed to every Council Member.
I am also planning to request an executive session to discuss the legal ramifications of going forward
with this contract.
