It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawaii County Planning
Commission:
Council District 1 -Takashi Domingo is a 67-year resident of Hawaii who is currently retired.
He formerly worked as a Hawaii County Special Assistant from 1997 to 2002, and prior to that
served as a Councilman for District 1 on the Hawaii County Council for 20 years. Mr. Domingo
previously served on the Board of Directors for the Brantley Center, and has also served as a
board member on the Hamakua Health Center. He states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed,
Mr. Domingo will serve a term to end on December 31, 2011, replacing Mr. Fred Galdones,
whose term expired on December 31, 2006.
Council District 6 - Mr. Rell M. Woodward has been a resident of Hawaii for 1 years. He
was employed from 1980 to 2002 as a physician at OB-GYN Association in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Woodward is the president of Ocean View Community Development Corporation, the
treasurer of the Hawaiian Ocean View Road Maintenance Corporation and a member of the
Board of Directors of the Ocean View Chamber of Commerce. He states that he is not affiliated
with any political party. If confirmed, Mr. Woodward will serve a term to end on December 31,
2011, replacing Mr. Jeffrey W. McCall, whose term expired on December 31, 2006.
