Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to inform you that I have appointed Jean B. Navarro of Council
District 1 to the County of Hawaii Mayor's Committee on People With Disabilities.
Ms. Navarro is a 6-year resident of Hawaii. Since 2003, she has been employed by the
Arc of Kona (dba Kona Krafts) as the Director of Supports and Services. Prior to moving
to Hawaii in 2000, she was the CEO of EBM, Inc. (a private post secondary school in
California).
Ms. Navarro is the president of Kalopa Enterprises, Inc., the director of the Girls
Academy of Honokaa, and a board member of the Hamakua Health Center, Project
STRIDE, and the Power of Choice, Hamakua. She states that she is a Democrat.
Ms. Navarro will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2008.
