RESOLUTION NO. '
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island serve youth of all ages from
its facilities in Hilo, Kea`au, Pahoa, and Pahala; and
WHEREAS, in 2007, the Boys and Girls Club plan to add sites on the Hamakua
Coast and in Hawaiian Ocean View Estates in Ka`u, and will provide needed guidance to
youths in these communities; and
WHEREAS, the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island provide programs in health &
life skills, character & leadership development, the arts, education (homework assistance and
computer skills), as well as sports, recreation and fitness. One can only imagine the difference
the Boys and Girls Clubs make in the lives of children here on the Big Island; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the
Liquor Control to be used as a grant towards the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Island to
enhance their youth programs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as
set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $15,000.00
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Liquor Control $15,000.00

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
forward a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance
and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in
accordance with the terms of this resolution.
