Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Resolution No. 22-07, reports as follows:
Resolution No. 22-07, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication
No. 39, dated December 18, 2006, authorizes the acceptance of a donation from Wal-Mart Hilo.
These funds, donated as part of Wal-Mart Hilo's community involvement program will be used
for general law enforcement related purposes.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on behalf of the
County, may accept gifts or donations of personal property.
A letter of appreciation will be sent to the Mr. Ten•ance Crowley, Manager, Wal-Mart Hilo, 325
E. Maka`ala Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, acknowledging this generous donation.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution No. 22-07
and recommends its adoption.
