Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 16, reports as follows:
Bill No. 16, transmitted by Director of Finance William Takaba, via Communication No. 43, dated
December 4, 2006, aznends Ordinance No. 06-80, as amended, the Operating Budget, ending
June 30, 2007. The amendment is as follows:

110.399.5399.24 ADA Curb Ramp Compliance General $1,500,000.00

General Obligation Bonds - General $1,500,000.00

Fund Balance and/or Other Sources
Your Committee expressed concerns as to the amount of ramps to be completed with the amount of
funding. Council Member Brenda Ford requested an updated report from Mr. Bob Nash of the Public
Works Department, as to the breakdown of the cost with the number of ramps that has been done thus
faz, which will be provided to the Committee Members prior to the next Council meeting.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, and Section 13-13(b), Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor is already authorized to apply for, receive and expend the funds for the project
identified in the Operating Budget.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 16, and recommends it
pass first reading.
