COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII
RESOLUTION NO. 5U
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF
MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR ONE (1) D7 BULLDOZER
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, a D7 Bulldozer is needed to maintain operations at the West Hawaii Landfill to cover the waste
brought into the landfill on a daily basis, as required by the State Department of Health regulations; and
WHEREAS, there is currently only one larger D8 bulldozer at this site and two bulldozers are needed to
insure continued daily operations when repairs and maintenance are required; and
WHEREAS, the County wishes to enter into a fve (5) year contract to lease with purchase options for one (1)
D7 Bulldozer for solid waste operations at the West Hawaii Landfill.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the Mayor
is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease agreement with purchase options for the acquisition of one (1)
D7 Bulldozer for solid waste operations at the West Hawaii Landfill and that sufficient funds be budgeted in future
fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk transmit copies of this resolution to the Mayor's Office and the
Departments of Finance and Environmental Management.
