RE: Resolution requesting the Department of Public Works include office space for the
Clerk/Council Office(s) in its renovation and redesign plan for the County Building located at 25
Aupuni Street, Hilo Hawaii
Attached for your review is the resolution I agreed to author and introduce at the Public Works and
Intergovernmental Relations Committee meeting on January 23, 2007. This resolution expresses our desire to
relocate our offices to the County Building at 25 Aupuni Street. In light of the concerns expressed by the
Mayor and his desire to expedite this request, I am asking that the matter be waived from committees and be
placed on the agenda of the February 7, 2007 Council meeting.

RE: Resolution Requesting the Department of Public Works to Include Office Spaces to
Accommodate the County Clerk/County Council Offices in its Redesign and Renovation
Plans for the County Building Located at 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawaii.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations to the full
Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations for
placement on its future agenda.
Sincerely,
BRENDA FORD, Chair
