We oppose Resolution 21-07 and expect our County Council to oppose it.s„~(T~'}die a freE
market society and the market should determine whether or not superstores are economically
viable on our island.
Superstores have the potential to lower consumer prices just as Walmart, Home Depot, Ross
and others have done. The County Council should not be interfering with this potential.
We have not been willing to support industries that provide higher level and higher paying
jobs suck as the Astronomy industry and it's Outrigger Project. Because of this, most of
our citizens are working at low paying service industry jobs and need the most competitive
pricing they can find for their consumer goods. The County Council has no right to
interfere with the natural market development toward improved consumer pricing.
