Subject: Big Box Stores
Aloha Council members! While I know it's popular to ban Big Box stores, your banning of them would be aimed straight at
Walmatt, one of the stores that caused Hawaii small businesses to be more competitive and innovative. Prior to the arrival of
Walman, Costco, Home Depot, and Lowes, many local businesses had higher prices, less service, and the attitude that they
had monopolies. Now they have pursued niche markets, excelled at service, or are justifiably on the way [o going away.
Why ban stores which might force the pushers of [his legislation (you might want Ca ask Higa who these people are) to
