Dear Chairman Hoffmann and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission:t

Council District 1 -Everette L. Souza is a 59-year resident of Hawaii who is self-employed as the
owner of Mister Fixit. He retired from HELCO in 2003, after working there for 33 years as a foreman.
Mr. Souza is a 4-H Livestock Club leader and the past president of the Hamakua Lions Club. He states
that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, Mr. Souza will serve a term to end on December 31, 2009, replacing
Mr. Takashi Domingo, who resigned.
Council District 4 - loans D. Agasa is a 50-year resident of Hawaii. She is aself-employed CPA. From
1993 to 1998 she was employed by Namihira and Yokoyama, CPA. Ms. Agasa is a member of the
Rotary Club of South Hilo, and the past treasurer of both the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce and
the Waiakea High PTSA. She states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed,
Ms. Agasa will serve a term to end on December 31, 2011, replacing Mr. Kelly Y. Kurakazu, whose term
expired on December 31, 2006.
Council District 5 -Iris M. McGuire is a 36-year resident of Hawaii. She is the Athletic Director at
Keaau High School. From 1998 to 2004, Ms. McGuire was a Police Officer with the Hawaii County
Police Department. Prior to that, from 1994 to 1998, she was employed by St. Joseph High School as a
teacher and coach. Ms. McGuire is the coordinator of the Drug Alcohol and Tobacco and the Shattered
Dreams Programs. She also helps with Special Olympics. Ms. McGuire states that she is not affiliated
with any political party. If confirmed, she will serve a term to end on December 31, 2011, replacing
Mr. Carl Dionne, whose term expired on December 31, 2006.
