Both <br /> bills propose amendments to section 27-20, Hawaii County Code, relating to "Standards <br /> for subdivisions, and other developments." The proposed amendments to this section <br /> differ slightly in the two bills. To rectify this situation, the Planning Department, per <br /> Planning Director Chris Yuen, and the Department of Public Works, per Engineer Galen <br /> Kuba, have agreed on proposed language for this section. Consequently, Mr. Yuen has <br /> asked that SECTION 4 of Bi1152 be amended by replacing the text of section 27-20, <br /> contained within Bi1152, with the replacement language they have agreed upon. <br /> This proposed change to section 27-20 removes the following language from subsection <br /> (e): <br /> "(e) If fill is used to elevate the site of any lot in a subdivision above the <br /> base flood elevation, the original elevation of the site prior to filling <br /> and the final elevation of the site after filling shall be certified by a <br /> professional civil engineer or land surveyor cun•ently registered in the <br /> State of Hawai`i." <br /> Comm.
