Dear Chairperson Arakaki and Council members:
Enclosed is a resolution that authorizes the Director of Finance to lease the County of Hawaii properties
through sealed bids or negotiations.
The Department of Finance held a public informational meeting on Jannaury 9, 1997, at the Paauilo Gym
to discuss the use of the land acquired from Hamakua Sugar Company. The attendees were in favor of a
lease up to five years rather than a month to month permit.
