It is my pleasure to nominate the following individuals to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory
Commission:
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS (DAV) -Minoru Hanato of South Kona is a lifelong resident
of Hawaii. He was the owner of Hanato Tofu Factory and retired in 1993. He is the former
treasurer of DAV Chapter 7. Mr. Hanato states that he is not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2011.
442n° VETERANS ASSOCIATION -George Mukai of Hilo is a lifelong resident of Hawaii. He
states that he is not affiliated with any political party. Mr. Mukai has been a member of this
commission for the past five years. His term expired in December, 2006, and he is being
nominated to succeed himself for another term that will expire on December 31, 2011.
