SUMJA OF COUNCIL DISTRICT 9 TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII POLICE COMMISSION From Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 23, 2007, submitting for confirmation the appointment of Michael Sumja of Council District 9 to the County of Hawaii Police Commission. Mr. Sumja is an 8-year resident of Hawaii and is currently employed by Hawaii County Department of Research and Development as a community facilitator. He is a former Commissioner on both the Hawaii County Transportation Commission and the Tax Board of Review, however both commissions expired on December 31, 2006. A member of the Democratic party, if confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2011. Comm. 175 continues on next page. AGASA AND IRIS M. MC GUIRE TO THE HAWAII COUNTY LIQUOR COMMISSION From Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 5, 2007, requesting the confirmation of the following individuals to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission: Mr. Everette L. Souza of Council District 1 is a 59-year resident of Hawai `i. He is self-employed as the owner of Mister Fixit after working for HELCO,for 33 years as a foreman and retiring in 2003. He states that he is affiliated with the Democratic party. If confirmed, he will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2009, replacing Mr. Takashi Domingo, who resigned. Ms. Ioana D. Agasa of Council District 4 is a 50 year resident of Hawai `i. She is aself-employed CPA and a member of the Rotary Club of South Hilo. She states that she is not affiliated with any political party, and, if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2011. Ms. Iris M. McGuire of Council District 5 is a 36-year resident of Hawai `i. She is the Athletic Director at Keaau High School and the coordinator of the Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco and the Shattered Dreams Programs. She states that she Is not affiliated with any political parry, and, if confirmed, will serve a term to expire on December 31, 2011.
