SUBJECT: Transmitting Resolution 44-07, Draft 2 - r-~
Enclosed is Resolution 44-07, Draft 2, which adds the Hawaii Island Community Development
Corporation ("HICDC") program to the list of exempted projects that provide affordable
housing, elderly housing, and homeless shelters to the community.
This amendment is made at the request of HICDC Executive Director, Keith Kato, via a letter
dated February 12, 2007 to the members of the Hawaii County Council. Mr. Kato's letter states
that HICDC has secured a 31 acre parcel in North Kohala, a portion of which is currently being
developed into affordable housing. HICDC may seek to rezone the balance of this property if the
initial affordable housing development is successful.
