Re: Proposed amendment to Resolution 41-07
Due to the questions raised by Council Member Higa at our last Council meeting I would like to
propose the following amendments to resolution 41-07.
The eighth "WHEREAS" clause is amended to read as follows:
WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Issues Caucus of the Democratic Party of the State of Hawai i, further
includes Hawaiian values as the basis for our Statement of Principles: `aloha', `kuleana', `malarna aina',
`ho`okipa', and `pono', values guiding personal and professional conduct when in service to the
community; and
Adding a tenth "WHEREAS" clause that reads as follows:
WHEREAS, on June 15, 2005, the Hawaii County Council approved resolution 95-OS
introduced by Council Vice Chair, Virginia Isbell in support of comprehensive public funding of
election campaigns; and
