Dear Councilwoman Naole:
This letter pledges my support for Bi11220 and 221 which, I understand after
speaking with Barbara Hale, provides Mr. Tim Gardner a legislative remedy
for his personal damages resulting from the planned development of Pahoa's
new fire station and adjacent commercial buildings.
It is most reasonable and responsible for us, as community-minded persons,
to realize the county's development plan foreshadows extensive
development in the Pahoa area, for which ample planning accompanied by
sensitivity to the special needs of damaged citizens is justified.
I understand the legislative intent of these bills is to serve this purpose by
providing Mr. Gardner, who justifiably does not wish to reside adjacent the
fire station, with a protective, economically viable, remedy. In addition, his
plan to serve our community at this location with the construction of a
storage facility seems highly reasonable, if not, generally favorable.
Thank you for your ongoing efforts on behalf of "We the People" in Puna
and our growing community at large.
