Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Raymond G.
Carvalho, II of Puna to the Hawaii County Liquor Commission to
serve as the representative from Puna, replacing Eleanor J. G.
Morita of Puna whose term expired on December 31, 1996.
Mr. Carvalho is a 49-year resident of Hawaii. Since 1980, he
has been the owner of Carvalho's Plumbing Service, and since
1993, has been the General Contractor for RGC Contracting. He
is active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3830; was the
chairman of the Vietnam Memorial Committee and served as an
officer of the St. Joseph's Alumni Association and the Hui
Hanalike Community Association. Mr. Carvalho states that he
has no party affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Carvalho will serve a term to end December 31,
2001. Should the Council require further information regarding
this submission, you may call me at your convenience.
