Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
Please be advised that I have appointed Jacqui L. Hoover of
Waikoloa to the Hawaii County Committee on the Status of Women
to replace Betty A. Andrade of Kona who has resigned due to a
conflict in her work schedule.
Mrs. Hoover is a 36-year resident of Hawaii and since 1994, has
been the General Manager of King's Shops. Prior to that, she
was with the Hyatt Regency Waikoloa (1988-1990) and Hawaiian
Dredging and Construction (1986-1988). She is active in
community affairs, having membership to Kona-Kohala Chamber of
Commerce, the West Hawaii Job Service Employer Committee, the
Waikoloa Elementary School Community Association and the South
Kohala Hawaiian Civic Club.
Mrs. Hoover will be serving the balance of the unexpired term
which will end on December 31, 1998. Should the Council have
any questions regarding this submission, you may call me at
your convenience.
