Your Committee on Environmental Management, to which was referred Resolution No. 30-07.
reports as follows:
Resolution No. 30-07, transmitted by Environmental Management Committee Chair Bob
Jacobson, via Communication No.69, dated Januazy 2, 2007, requires mandatory recycling by
county agencies and departments.
The purpose of this resolution is to divert recyclable materials from the waste stream. County
agencies and departments generate significant quantities of waste items. Items such as
newspaper, office paper, cazdboazd, aluminum cans, glass containers, plastic containers, toner
cartridges and computer and other equipment components are easily collected and processed for
reuse. This resolution also encourages the County to take the lead in its island wide recycling
efforts.
Your Committee on Environmental Management is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Resolution No.30-07 and recommends its adoption.
