RESOLUTION NO. 89 0'7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S).
WHEREAS, District 1 includes parts of Rural South Hilo, North Hilo, Hamakua, and South
Kohala ending at White Road; and
WHEREAS, Volunteer Fire Departments (VFD) have been mobilized in the district in an
effort to provide immediate assistance in the event of an emergency; and
WHEREAS, with appropriate training and equipment, volunteer fire fighters can assist as first
responders in certain situations to provide basic stabilization techniques in the first critical minutes
following an accident; and
WHEREAS, Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) are critical life saving devices that can
literally save a life if used immediately and appropriately; and
WHEREAS, a $1,919 appropriation from Council District 1 Contingency Relief account will
be administered by the Fire Department for the purchase of an Automatic External Defibrillator for the
Pepe`ekeo Volunteer Fire Station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Fire Chief and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make
the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
