Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, which
authorizes the Council, on behalf of the County, to accept gifts or donations of personal
property, and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (c), of the Hawaii County Code,
which states that any donation or gift which does not fall within the capitalization procedures
of the department of finance shall be submitted to the council by letter for its approval, we
request the Council's approval of the following donation:
A monetary donation of $25 to the Department of Parks and Recreation, to be used
towards the reconstruction of the Panaewa Community Center, by Ms. June H.
Daimaru, 126 Pohai Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the recipient Department.

A. REQUEST:
To accept and acknowledge a monetary donation of $25.00 for the Panaewa Community Center
reconstruction.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge a monetary donation of $25.00 to the
Department of Parks & Recreation, to be used towards the reconstruction of the Panaewa Community
Center, by June H. Daimaru, 126 Pohai Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
