RE: Transmitting a proposed drafr 2 of Bi1163
Relating to Membership and Tenure of the Veterans Advisory Committee
Transmitted for your consideration is a proposed draft 2 of Bill 63. This draft amends the bill by
incorporating the changes made to section 15-62(b), Hawaii County Code, by ordinance 06-159,
effective December 7, 2006. (Ordinance 06-159 added the Korean War Veterans Organization
and three at-large members to the veterans advisory committee.)
As amended, subsection (b) would now read:
"(b) The membership of the committee shall include one representative each from the
American Legion, Big Island National Guard Retirees Association, Big Island
Retired Military Association, Club 100, Disabled American Veterans, Hawaii
Island Veterans Memorial, Inc., 442nd Veterans Association, Hilo Interpreters
Club, Hawaii Island Women Veterans Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, the
Veterans of the Vietnam War, the Military Order of the Purple Heart, [axd] the
Korean War Veterans Organization and the Camp Tarawa Detachment #1255 of the
Marine Corps LeaQUe. The committee shall also include three at-large members."
