I support Resolution #4107 because: - c
Public funding removes the appearance of impropriety with regards to decision-making, which is
essential in re-building public trust in our elected representatives. Public financing removed the
possibility of returning favors as a consequence of support from special interests. Public financing of
campaigns also allows candidates to focus on the issues and communicating with voters and not on fund
raising. If we truly want more participation in our democracy, we should implement this reform measure
immediately.
