Re: Addendum to Community Facilities District Report for
County of Hawaii Community Facilities District No. 2006-1
(The Villages of Aina Lea)
Dear Sir:
I am writing on behalf of Bridge Aina Lea LLC with respect to the Community Facilities
District Report that you submitted to the County Council by letter dated December 28, 2006 in
connection with the above-referenced Community Facilities District. With respect to the roads
and roadways described in Section tII.B of the Report, this is to confum that:
• The mauka-makai road referred to in Section III.B will connect Waikoloa Village at
Hulu Strcet to the Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway just inside the northwestern
boundary of the proposed District. This road will be constructed pursuant to the
design criteria, proposed alignments, and intersection requirements with Hulu Street
and Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway as delineated by the Aina Lea Master Plan.
• Bridge Aina Lea acknowledges that the mauka-makai connector is the highest
priority facility being funded by the proposed District. Accordingly, Bridge Aina
Lea commits that no more than $20 million in bonds will be issued for the District
before this mauka-makai connector is either completely funded or a completion bond
for the completion of the connector is provided to your Department. Bridge Aina Lea
understands that [he Department of Public Works will use its good faith efforts to
expedite the issuance of permits for the construction of this road.
I hope this helps to clarify matters regarding the connector road. You may feel free to
communicate this information to the County Council if you feel that would be appropriate.
