This appropriation represents the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) funding for the repair work for damages resulting from the October 15, 2006 earthquake. At this time, the Department of Public Works has signed Project Worksheets with FEMA for a total estimated cost of approximately $1,600,000. FEMA's reimbursement for most project costs is 75%, or the $1,200,000 that we are appropriating at this time. Additional Project Worksheets are still in process, so an additional appropriation may be requested at a later date. Due to the need to begin repairs as soon as possible, we humbly request a waiver from the Finance Committee and have this bill heard at the Council meeting scheduled for March 21, 2007. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Nancy Crawford, Deputy Director of Finance. /~e~~-William Takaba Y1 Director of Finance APPROVED: C~~`eu-C/r r Harry Kim Z4 s Mayor Camm.
