Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations, to which was referred Bill No. 53,
reports as follows:
Bill 53, transmitted via Communication 180, from Public Works Director Bruce C. McClure, dated
February 5, 2007, asks that the Council extend the Director's Temporary Authority to make traffic control
changes for an additional 90 days. Director McClure writes, "there have been occasions when the current
90-day period to effectuate the provisions of an amendment to this chapter has been insufficient" This
amendment will allow the Director of Public Works to continue with the process of effectuating the
provisions of an amendment to this chapter when scheduling or other unforeseen circumstances
necessitates an extension of the 90 day period without obtaining the approval from the County Council.
Fhere was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Intergovernmental Relations is in accord with the purpose and
intent of Bill 53, and recommends it pass first reading.
