A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDTI'ING SAME TO
A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation operated
entirely by volunteers from the Kona community and organized exclusively to develop,
coordinate, schedule and facilitate monthly non-partisan community-based town meetings that
provide forums for members of the community to understand and discuss the needs of their
community; and
WHEREAS, Community Enterprises hold monthly Kailua-Kona Town Meetings
featuring a specific community-related theme or topic and provide speakers who present
informational background regarding each theme, and engage the public in question and
answer sessions; and
WHEREAS, Kailua-Kona Town Meetings provide valuable public information
pertaining to matters affecting the Kona community and promote citizen awareness, education
and public participation in community affairs; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the
Department of Research and Development to be used as a grant towards Community
Enterprises town meetings to defray the costs to provide this educational and valuable
community service; now, therefore,
BE TT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII, OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Reseazch and Development and the Director of Finance and that
the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance
with the terms of this resolution.
