Dear Chairman Arakaki and Members of the County Council:
At the Council Finance Committee meeting on February 17, 1998, a request was made for
additional information regazding Bill 180, Draft 2, Authorizing the Issuance of $40 Million
in General Obligation Bonds. The request in reference to testimony submitted was specifically
for a clarification of the projects that were categorized as "Safety Improvements to COH
Facilities (prior appropriations)" at a projected cost of $16 Million.
Attached is a list of such projects that have been appropriated but have either received only
partial allotments or none at all. As is stated, the total amount required to fund all such
projects would exceed $16 Million, but it is recognized that some projects may be funded from
other sources or may not be ready to proceed for various reasons. However, please keep in
mind that all projects listed have been appropriated and hence have been acted upon by the
County Council.
