Dear Chairman Hoffman and Council Members:
In correspondence dated March 9, 2007, 11 individuals were nominated to serve on the
South Kohala Steering Committee. One of the nominees, Mr. Marvin Kawano, has
withdrawn. Accordingly, I am forwarding for your review and confirmation a nominee who
is eager to participate in the CDP process.
Mr. Ashley Goo is a lifeling resident of Waimea. He graduated from Hawaii Preparatory
Academy. After majoring in Business Management at the University of Nevada, Reno,
he returned to Hawaii to work on his family's farm in Waimea. Mr. Goo has seen the
South Kohala region change over the years and he would like to participate in the CDP
process to help find solutions to key issues and insure that decisions are made in the
best interest of the people of the community.
I would appreciate your attention to this matter and request that Mr. Goo's nomination be
placed on the April 3, 2007 Planning Committee Agenda for discussion and upon
confirmation, on the April 18, 2007 full Council agenda.
