RESOLUTION NO. 1~.5 0'7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, there is an increasing number of adults in Hawaii County who cannot read
or write; and
WHEREAS, there are few prograzns in Hawaii County which focus on adult literacy; and
WHEREAS, there aze few funding sources available for programs which focus solely on
adult literacy; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center, housed in the Hilo Public Library
is one of the few programs which help adults achieve the reading and writing skills that are necessary
to gainfully function in our society; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center currently provides its services for
adults from East Hawaii through the Haznakua -North Kohala District; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center is in need of funds to continue this
necessary service; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the
Department of Liquor Control to be used as a grant towazds the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning
Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $24,500
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Depaztment of Liquor Control $24,500

(Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forwazd a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
