Higa, Council Member Hawaii County Council SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to a Resolution Amending Resolution No. 55-07, Adopting Rules of Procedure and Organization of the Council of the County of Hawai' i I propose that the following amendment be made to the above-referenced subject. [1 ]2. [When a motion has been made and carried in the affinmative or negative, any Council Member voting with the majority may move for a reconsideration of the vote on the motion only at the same meeting or at the next regular meeting.] When a motion has been made and carried in the affirmative or negative, any Council Member votive with the majority may move for a reconsideration of the vote on the motion at the same meeting or at the next regular meetine. However, any Council member who wishes to ask for a motion to reconsider at the next meetine must notify the Council Chairoerson and County Clerk in writine of their intention to make such a motion within five (5) days after the bill passes final reading. A motion to reconsider the vote taken at the time any bill or resolution fails to pass final reading shall not be voted upon until twenty-four (24) hours have elapsed. 3. [A request for a motion to reconsider a measure may be made in writing and shall be placed under "Other Business" on the agenda of the next regular meeting.] [Action upon reconsideration of an issue shall be taken only following notice as required by law, unless such „a,nm. If the motion to reconsider fails, the vote previously taken on the bill or resolution shall become final, and the Clerk shall so note in the journal.
