RESOLUTION NO. SZ6 U7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Ka Nani No Na Pua is dedicated to promote, perpetuate and encourage the
Polynesian Island culture through the traditional music, dances and chants of Tuamoto Island;
and
WHEREAS, Ka Nani No Na Pua has taught the songs, chants, dances, and genealogy of
the indigenous people of Polynesia, thus providing a safe enviroment for our youths; and
WHEREAS, Ka Nani No Na Pua is committed to work with those who aze phycially
challenged through songs and dances; and
WHEREAS, Ka Nani No Na Pua has requested funding to preserse their cultural
identity, assist the phycially challeged, increase self-esteem of our children, and perpetuate the
native language through music; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the
Department of Liquor Control to be used as a grant towards Ka Nani No Na Pua program-
Dances of Tuamoto Island; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC Contingency Relief $5,000
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $5,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
