RESOLUTION NO. 137 U7
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, there is an increasing number of adults in Hawaii County who cannot read
or write; and
WHEREAS, there aze few programs in Hawaii County that focus on the problem of
adult illiteracy, and there are few funding sources for these existing programs; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center, which is housed in the Hilo
Public Librazy, is one of the few programs that teaches adults how to read and write; and
WHEREAS, the Hilo Computer Assisted Learning Center currently provides services for
adults from East Hawaii through the Hamakua -North Kohala District; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 3 will be used as a grant to
improve and enhance the adult literacy program conducted by the Hilo Computer Assisted
Learning Center; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred and appropriated as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC -Contingency Relief $20,000
CREDITED TO:
010.251.5251.39 Department of Liquor Control $20,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and the Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
