Subject: Transmitting Sign Variance Resolution for KOYO USA Corp.
KOYO USA Corp. seeks a vaziance from section 3-11(a)(6)(A), of the County's Sign Code.
This variance would permit it to erect a wall sign that is 680 square feet in size upon their
facility located at 73-4460 Queen Kaahumanu Highway in Kailua-Kona. KOYO USA Corp.
suggests that this variance is needed because their physical location and the nature of their
business require installation of a sign that exceeds the 150 square foot maximum size wall sign
presently allowed by the Code.
Pursuant to section 3-22, Hawaii County Code, the County Council may grant, by resolution,
requests for vaziances from the Sign Code. Consequently, the Legislative Reseazch Branch of
the County Clerk's Office, has incorporated information submitted by the applicant into this
resolution and respectfully submits it to the Council for its consideration. Copies of
background information submitted by the applicant, which relate to this request, are attached to
this communication.
A copy of this resolution has been provided to he Department of Public Works. If you have
