For your clarification, the amendments are as follows: I. Include the international aspect of the Merrie Monarch Festival: "WHEREAS, in preparation of the Merrie Monarch Festival, hula studios and instructors in Hawaii, [axd] on the U. S. mainland, and internationally, hold classes, workshops, and seminars throughout the year to teach the art of hula, the meaning of Hawaiian chants and songs, the Hawaiian language, the making of Hawaiian clothing and crafts, and the history of the Hawaiian people; and" 2. Pursuant to concerns regarding the unavailability of a portion of 865 Pi`ilani Street, Hilo Hawaii: "WHEREAS the Hawaii County Council strongly ur¢es the Mayor and his Administration to locate and make available to the Merrie Monarch Festival organization a portion of 865 Pi`ilani Street Hilo Hawaii, for an office, however, in the event that this site is not available then a viable site in close proximity to the Ho`olulu Sports Complex shall be made available to allow the Merrie Monarch Festival organization to establish and maintain an office /as soon as possible; and" Comm. Pursuant to concerns regarding the unavailability of the 865 Pi`ilani Street, Hilo, Hawaii: "BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at such time that the County of Hawaii RSVP program is relocated to another site as planned by the Administration, aportion of the former real property tax office situated at 865 Pi`ilani Street, in Hilo, Hawaii, shall be deemed the home office of the Merrie Monazch Festival unless that site is unavailable in which case a viable site in close proximity to the Ho`olulu Sports Complex shall be made available to allow the Merrie Monarch Festival organization to establish and maintain an office as soon as possible; and DI:awm Enc.
