RESOLUTION NO. 153 U'~
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, Turning Point for Families, Inc. operates the West Hawaii Domestic
Abuse Shelter; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter provides 24-hours/365 days per
yeaz emergency shelter and other services to victims of domestic violence and their children; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter provided services to 121 women
and 112 children during the fiscal yeaz 2005-2006; and
WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter services include: crisis hotline,
food, clothing, counseling, childcare, shelter transportation, assistance with Temporary
Restraining Orders, assistance in transferring residents to permanent housing and attaining self-
sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the
Prosecuting Attorney's Office to be used as a grant towazds the Turning Point for Families, Inc.
to defray the costs of providing service to the West Hawaii Domestic Abuse Shelter; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated asset forth below:

010.271.5271.14 Prosecuting Attorney's Office $10,000

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution
to the Prosecuting Attorney and the Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
