A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AND APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S) AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT(S)
WHEREAS, on May 26`s, 27`s and 28`s, the Federation of American Natives in
partnership with the Big Island Resource Conservation and Development Council will be hosting
the Second Annual Hilo Inter-Tribal Powwow; and
WHEREAS, this event will provide opportunities for our residents and visitors to
experience the Native American Culture through music, dance and storytelling; and
WHEREAS, there will be two youth groups of dancers traveling from the mainland to
entertain and educate the spectators and participants; and
WHEREAS, there aze currently over 25,000 Native American residents in Hawaii and
this is an important opportunity for their youth to celebrate and take pride in sharing their unique
traditions and culture; and
WHEREAS, discretionary funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the
Depaztment of Research and Development to be used as a grant towazds the 2" Annual Hilo
Inter-Tribal Pow Wow; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY TAE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forwazd a copy of this
resolution to the Director of the Department of Research and Development and the Director of
Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in
accordance with the terms of this resolution.
